Vivi Pignone, DVM, MSc, PhD

Dr. Vivi Pignone joined the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 2025. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA), Brazil, in 2004. She completed a postgraduate specialization in Small Animal Veterinary Dentistry at ANCLIVEPA-SP in 2008, followed by a Master’s degree in 2011 and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 2015 from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Dr. Pignone completed a three-year residency in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2025. She is currently pursuing board certification in Veterinary Dentistry. Her passion for teaching began early in her career, with extensive involvement in postgraduate education programs throughout Brazil. Her primary clinical and research interests include major oral surgery and complex, challenging cases.
