The Dentistry and Oral Surgery service offers treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology  in companion animals as well as equine and food animal species. Our team is composed of a board certified veterinary dentist and experienced staff diagnose and treat a wide array of oral and maxillofacial conditions including advanced periodontal disease, endodontic disease, maxillofacial trauma, oral cancer, and malocclusions. 

The U of M Veterinary Medical Center's Large Animal Theriogenology service provides services related to breeding management and high-risk pregnancy monitoring for equine, bovine, ovine, caprine and camelids.

The Primary Care service is a full-service veterinary clinic within the Veterinary Medical Center. We offer routine veterinary care for dogs and cats and the opportunity for our fourth year veterinary students to gain experience typically found in a Primary Care private practice setting.

The Large Animal Internal Medicine service at the University of Minnesota diagnoses and provides treatment for horses and other large animal species with a wide variety of medical conditions.

The Piper Equine Hospital can help to keep your horse to peak performance by providing surgical and medical treatment options by board-certified specialists. Equine Sports Medicine provides a vital role for today’s equine athletes. Injuries can occur as the horse is asked to perform to the best of its ability.

Our dermatology experts provide comprehensive dermatological exams, assessment and diagnostic tests and develop specific treatment plans for patients with various skin and ear problems, from simple to more complex and challenging diseases.

Clinical pathology services offered by the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center includes hematology, coagulation, and biochemical testing, urinalysis, and body fluid analysis for a variety of species, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, poultry, camelids, rodents, non-human primates, reptiles, and fish.
