Summary

Dr. Caitlin Tearney received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin. She joined Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Colorado for two consecutive years to complete a small animal rotating internship followed by a surgical and anesthesia small animal internship. She completed a residency in anesthesia and critical care at the University of California, Davis, and became board-certified in 2015. After residency she returned to Colorado and Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital to start an anesthesia service where she worked as their sole anesthesiologist for six years. She joined the University of Minnesota in September 2021.

Dr. Tearney has a strong interest in regional anesthetic techniques, acute pain management, and feline anesthesia. She is a fear-free certified practitioner and RECOVER CPR certified. She tailors anesthetic plans to incorporate fear-free practices to each patient.
