VMC value she most connects with
Learning

Most memorable case
Many, but she’ll always remember the Westie with a foreign body. “The surgeon removed 17 cents in coins from her stomach,” Michon recalls. “Apparently, the toddler in the house was feeding her money.”

What does she do to stay positive every day?
“Keeping my stress level down on a regular basis by exercising really helps me,” Michon says. “I try to stay calm and appreciate everyone. I work hard at being open-minded and trying to be positive.”

If she won the lottery. . .
“First, help my family and close friends,” Michon says. “Then buy a new home here or possibly Kentucky where one of my sisters lives. Then buy a condo in Dominican Republic, where my husband is from. I would volunteer for different programs like food shelves and kitchens, senior companions, animal shelters, and rescues. I would love to build a new gym. I need to play the lottery.”

Looking forward to
Going to the Dominican Republic this month. “I’m very excited. Then to Florida to visit my mom in a couple months.”

On her bucket list
Michon likes to try new things all the time. “I would like to zip line and may do it in Dominican Republic,” she says. “I want to travel, and the top of the list is Anguilla and El Salvador. I would love to go back to Ireland.”

Most people don’t know. . .
Michon met her husband when she was on vacation in with a friend in the Dominican Republic. “We went on a tour, and he was our guide,” Michon recalls. “We had a connection and decided to keep in contact when I returned home. I traveled there two more times that year, and he came here three times. He then stayed and went through the immigration process. We did the process without legal help and learned a lot.”

What advice would she give her younger self?
Listen to your gut and don’t be afraid of what others think. Try new things and build self-esteem. You have worth and deserve everything. Work hard and you will be fine.
